I would be interested in a "Portland Hikers" t-shirt.  Maybe someone could design one.  I'm not a graphic designer or I would myself.  I think that it could help offset some costs of running this site.

A little store would be cool:

    Patches, hats,decals and t-shirts

Just a thought.  What do the rest of you think?

We actually were selling some at one point (through Cafe Press).  It was a cotton T that said "PortlandHikers.com" on the front (back when we were just .com) and it said "Step One: Place backpack here" on the back (which I thought was pretty clever!)

The problem was that we really would have loved to have done a wicking shirt instead.

It is probably time to start coming up with some swag again.  I've love to get a new batch of window stickers made up.  We're working on a new logo that will follow the new website at somepoint.

I was a graphic designer in another life and would love to help work up a design.

I just happen to be a graphics professional out in hillsboro with full color digital print & cut capabilities. The design could also be something a bit more simple, 1-2 Color plotter cut vinyl (think dutch bros. stickers) The best design would work for both applications. I'll tinker with a logo in the meantime unless theres already something in the works? Everyone loves stickers.

I'm an artist, too, Geez, and I totally agree: simple is best. Easy to recognize, easy to print, easy to screen. It'll lend itself to any medium. (And 2-color PMS is so much cheaper in vinyl and silk screen.) Are you thinking black and one other color? I vote for a deep, vivid green. You can always flesh out the logo into 4-color elsewhere to have fun with it.

Thank you so much for donating your skills and time! Looking forward to seeing your imagination take off. :-)

    Yay, stickers!

Cool!  Thanks for the great offers!  We might just have something here!

We actually have a designer helping us out already, but we've kept him pretty busy with Trailkeepers.  He worked up some logo ideas earlier in the year, but we got sidetracked with other projects.  So I may yet need people's help!

Actually come to think of it we can ALWAYS use help!

The sticker on my car, as Jeff has noticed, says "portlandhikers.com" It would be nice to have one with ".org" on it. One thing at a time, though; let's get migrated to the new server, first!

Maybe a design contest is called for?  I would buy a sticker, for sure.  T-shirt depending on value.

Administrator willing, I suggest a logo contest.  It might go until 6/30, after which a new thread (can we do a poll?) would allow us to vote. Might need a couple rounds of voting.

A contest sounds good too if it isn't too much distraction.  I'd love to see what ideas are out there.  If a contest is too formal maybe at least a new thread for users to post some ideas.

There have been a number of times that I've met hikers on the trail and wondered if I "knew" them from here. A button or pin would work well to resolve that since I wouldn't wear the same shirt on every hike, but could keep the button in the car to wear each time.
