I finally broke down and bought the bulb exposure cable release thing from Canon, way overpriced, and yes I have the stupid generic one sold on ebay for a quarter of the cost, but it doesn't work on my 5D, only my 20D....
SO, here is the result of my first use of it. It's shot on a Canon 5D, 24-70 F2.8L Lens: F2.8, 8.5 Minutes, ISO 100. There was NO wind at all at Timberline, pretty nice, around 24-26 degrees. Completely silent up there, only the sounds of the climber parties getting ready to go up the mountain....
