Sometimes you find the needle in the haystack..

I'll use higher speed film and a bigger zoom lens next time now that i know where the nest is. I wonder how tiny the eggs are.

    Where was this taken?

There's a hummingbird I saw nearly everyday in the morning a few weeks back.  Hardly any sightings the last couple weeks, so must be up to the same thing.

I took this right outside my front door here in scenic downtown Tigard...

Wonderful Gene, What a precious neighbor. Hopefully you will  share updates on the new family.

It's amazing how perfectly still she sits in the nest. Her colors match the surroundings as to almost make her invisible. Not the stereotypical image of a hummingbird. There are lots of them around here. They stage little aerial battles by the feeder I have hanging. With a nice tall tree for protection and a ready supply of food, it probably seemed like a good spot to build a nest.

There are definitely a couple babies in the nest. Today I could see their little beaks reaching for food when she came back to the nest , which is right off my porch. I'm upstairs so I'm actually looking down on it. I'll try and get pictures over the next couple weeks. They're so tiny..

There must be bunches of hummingbirds around here. There's one at my feeder every few minutes. Luckily water and sugar are pretty inexpensive. :)

Congrats to mama hummingbird on the new arrivals! I'm looking forward to pictures!
May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.--E.Abbey

Some new pics from 3/29. They still match the color of the nest but definitely getting bigger. I wonder if they'll try using the feeder when she teaches them to fly.
