    Hi Everyone!

My name is Meghan McGuire, I live in North Portland and I am currently the AmeriCorps rep in charge of a program called "Friends of the Forest," a new-ish program by the National Forest Foundation.

Friends of the Forests Days are free opportunities for people to participate in restoration efforts in National Forest lands. You can see a full list of our events (and events put together by other non-profits) here.

Friends of the Forest Days are family-friendly, and usually start at 9 a.m. and end at 1 p.m.. We work until 12, then enjoy lunch and an educational speaker together.

Anyway, I wanted to invite you all to this years Friends of the Forest Days. As hikers, if you are interested in trail building, check out our Multnomah Falls, Sandy River Delta, and Timberline Lodge events. If you feel like travelling up to Mt. Baker later on this year, please join us at Gold Creek Pond. Anyone here like rivers or salmon Big Smile? Then you might want to come to our kickoff event at Dodge Park next month! There are lots more to choose from at our website, www.becomeafriend.org.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My office number is (503) 808-2695, or you can email me at mmcguire@natlforests.org.

Thanks again, and hope to see you soon!

    -Meg
