    Hi
I am from Chicago and will be in town (Portland) from the 1st to the 4th. I am looking to hike, weather permitting, on Friday. Would love to have company and learn a trail or two. I am fairly new to hiking but in ok hiking shape considering the long Chicago winter! Would love to see waterfalls and/or wildflowers, would love to get a workout in, would love to have a new friend or two or three! I will have a car so I could be the driver to the trailhead and don't mind going about an hour radius from Portland. If no takers, can anyone suggest a good solo hike that I have a somewhat small chance of getting lost?

Hi Liz. I am also going to be in Portland next weekend (from the 1st to the 5th) from out of town and was thinking of doing some hiking. I am from Manchester,NH and in pretty decent shape. I hike in the summer and winter here, although I am probably not going to bring much in the way of winter gear/clothes. I've been to Portland twice before and know the area a bit although when it comes to hiking there I have only done some short, light hikes around Multnomah Falls/Columbia River Gorge.  I'd be up for doing something on Friday although I am sure the local  experts would have a lot more knowledge of where to go than me.

    Hi Frank,
I am hiking with another person who is local. We are going to be doing the Multnomah-Wahkeena loop. Sounds like you might have done this before. We may be a bit slower than you but you are welcome to join us. Let me know if you would like to join us and I will send you the details.
