It got me around the achilles area near the ankle. - and yeah, pretty freaky, after 5 minutes your skin begins to feel taught there, and the bleeding does not stop (but the wound is small).  The real pain doesn't come for days though.  It begins much like having a bad sprained ankle.

I hope the gentleman whose backyard they are enjoying embarked on a little rattler relocation project at that point!

I know some folks have different ideas about protecting dangerous animals, but if it was my house (in which my kids live!) I would strive to relocate the heads in a separate place from the bodies.
