After many many times of missing out on good trips due to short notices, thus no one I know can go, I've decided to start a database of people who are willing - nay, EAGER! :P - to join me on hiking trips (maybe even an overnighter or two..) that would recieve very short notices (like a day in advance in extreme cases, but usually the week before).

It's not a requirement that you drop everything to join me if I send out hiking partner requests, of course, but I'd like the option of sending out emails (or text or voicemail) to people who might be willing to do just that, and hopefully get a few answers back. Know what I mean?

The next overnighter I plan is to drive up as far as possible to Marble Mountain, then hike to the Ape Cave area for an overnighter. I don't know when, because of the iffy weather and my schedule, that's why it'd be nice to have a bunch of people who MIGHT have the same schedule as me and would want to go at the last moment.

That's an example, most trips will likely be just an out and back type hike until warmer weather really sets in. :)

Again, this is just an attempt to gather people who MIGHT wish to join me on the spur of the moment trips. I'm just going to alert people in my list of my plans and anyone is welcome to ignore it or join me or just request more details so they can do it on their own when they have the time :)

I'm posting this in various places in hopes of gathering some names to fill out my "database" aka email contacts.

I'd be interested in being part of this "last minute" group.  I plan to hike at least once a week for the forseeable future, and I usually don't decide where to go until the night before (unless it's a trip that requires specific preparations of course).  Seems to me that the worst case scenario of being on this list is that I couldn't go...but I sure wouldn't have the chance without the invite! :)

    I'll PM my email.

I never have the foresight to plan these things in advance, and the weather never cooperates when I do. ;-P  If you're still looking for a spur-of-the-moment trip list, I'd be game.
