Just wanted to say how excited I was to find this site the other day. I have done long distance bicycling, and a lot of short day hikes but I am interested in learning more and doing some longer hikes. Hopefully I can find a group of people who are also newer to this!

Lots of people to hook up with for hikes, here - just keep an eye on the "Organize and Invite" and "Trail Q&A" sections, and you'll find lots of opportunities as the summer progresses. Also, be sure to check out the Field Guide tab - it's a resource maintained by members of the PH community, and is easily searched according to hike characteristics.
