I'm looking to get a new lens for my DSLR and I'm looking at the Tamron line and I'm interested in either the 18-200mm or the 18-250mm. These lenses are not recommended for a sensor larger than 24x16mm which means I'm ok cause my sensor is 22.7 x 15.1 mm. The cost difference is $100 and I'm wondering if it's worth the extra money for the bigger zoom or if I'm better off with the 18-200mm. Any thoughts, comments, suggestions?

Just a thought. I have not checked prices lately, but you might consider the shorter lens and invest in a multiplier instead for added versatility. A 1.4x is good. A 2x is might be pushing the limits of the lens depending on the aperture range of that lens.

this is just my opionion but I ma not a fan of the "One lens does it all on a DSLR" get 2-3 lenses that cover the range and they will give you considerably beter image quality.

What do you shoot Canon, nikon, or something else ?

AFter reading some reviews that didn't off too many good things about the Tamron lenses, I decided to get the new Canon 55-250IS one instead. It is working out great for me.
