Hi there. I'm not new to hiking, but I will be new to Portland very soon. After spending most of my adult life in Philly and NYC, I'm moving out to Portland in early July. I'm looking forward to enjoying the beautiful scenery and the abundant hiking opportunities in the Portland area and throughout the Northwest. I've hiked on Vancouver island before, and it was awesome, and I'm expecting much the same in Washington and Oregon. This forum has been a great source of info, and I think it's particularly nice that people use it to meet up with groups of hikers. Anyway, I wanted to say hi.
