today i bushwhacked up tish creek to the falls. i started out on the eagle creek trail, nothing to report there exept that there was no trilliums out yet, that i could see. okay, then the bushwhack starts
here at the tish creek bridge. there are some faint trails leading up the ceek for the first few hundred feet or so. then the trails disappear, and total bushwhacking begins. this first part has lots of brush, and small mossy vine maples. for the first part i was on the north side of the creek. the other side has steep cliffs here. then my side of the creek got steep, so i crossed, where there was enough room to walk by the cliffs. i crossed again in a few feet back to the other side again because of the cliffs. i kept going, sometimes by the creek, sometimes up thirty feet above. there are a few talus slopes and steep areas where it was hard. i was so busy blocking the brush, i forgot to take pictures of the creek and forest. after a few bends in the creek, i heard, then saw tish creek falls. i kept going to the base. this falls is at least a hundred feet tall. it was sprinkling while i was on the way, but right when i got to the falls, the sun came out. normally this would be a good thing, but i brought my dads d40 to take slow pictures, but the sun ruined it. darn. the falls is so big in fact, that you cant get it all in one picture. i took two vertical pictures and stitched them together using autostitch. here they are. ( by the way, when i got home, i cheated and blurred the water for a slower effect)

this falls was a half mile from the eagle creek trail. all over, a great day bushwhacking
