By now we are all familiar with the server stuff, so no detailed report.  Maybe after the switch or if the "too full" errors ease up again...  However, this was my first time up Table and it was amazing!

Seems I picked a good day for all the views (since my last 4 decent climbs were all on rainy days), and I got a chance to check out the new section of trail on the East ascent.  I'm not sure how this trail used to be, but it was easy to identify the "new" part by sight and it was only "new" for the uppermost 300-400 vertical feet ( a ways after the rock fall section and beyond the Heartbreak Cutover).  Came down West, which is an adventure, and dropped back to Bonneville Hot Springs.

I was up top for a good hour before I saw anyone else (thanks to an uncharacteristic early start), but must have passed a dozen or more brave souls on my way down.

I did have one question for those more familiar with this hike.  On the way down Heartbreak Ridge there are some of those "Indian Pit" things in the rocks and I was wondering if these are authentic ones or done more recently by copycats.  There were so many rock piles and man-made formations that it made me unsure. photo - http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii74/zombiedoom13/Hiking/20080614-TableMountain125.jpg

I'll see if I can get some pics up sometime, and for those watching the snow levels, there were only meager snow fields on the North side up top; 1-3 feet at the deepest, and easily navigable.

My best luck came just editing the original post and adding one picture at a time (and I have dialup so it wasn't quick). But I actually had better luck adding pictures than text.

Aaron - Glad you had a good hike on Table. Thanks for the report.

As to your question, yes, the pictures that you show on the post are those of Indian Vision Quest Sites. They are located just off the trail on the west ridge and have been certified as such by DNR folks. So, please do leave them - they are not copycats. The trail goes right close to them because there is no other option - yes, there are other piles or carins that are made to help guide people on the trail.
